United States Supreme Court Associate Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia sat down this week to talk about the First Amendment. Fortunately, C-Span taped the talk and has it available to watch for free.
The program is particularly interesting because Justices Ginsburg and Scalia have such a different view on the Constitution. Justice Scalia is a known textualist, and looks to what the law was when the United States formed. On the other hand, Justice Ginsburg views the Constitution as a living document that can change with the times. It is amazing how the First Amendment is only forty-five words, but there is so much theory and meaning in those words.
It is a fascinating talk. Check it out!
